FWIW, here's what's happened with my game.  Last weekend created a new game in Seasons; everything OK (the odd crash, but nothing unmanageable) until I made the husband a self-employed Nectar Maker.  Immediately, game crashed frequently and froze or lagged constantly; some Error 12s.  Rebooted a couple of times but no change.

Today, I changed the husband back to self-employed angler (which was previous job), no change -- froze immediately and every two to three minutes thereafter -- so went back to City Hall and made him a self-employed Nectar Maker again, and guess what?  Now no problems.  No freezing/lagging and so far no crashes (although I'm still saving every 5 minutes).

Very strange, but at least I can postpone deinstalling and reinstalling the entire shebang for now.

I think its something to do with the most recent Store Content Patch (or whatever its called), because mine started crashing as soon as I updated. And it crashes at a specific point, because I tried on one save and it crashed just before the kids got on the bus, and then I tried playing an earlier save and it was absolutely fine until that same point :\

Apparently my crashing was just that I didn't really have the right computer to handle all the EPs I was asking it to work with, because I've not had a single crash since I installed the game and EPs on my new laptop.  I tested everything out really slowly, adding cc back slowly, and then finally just ran the old save files that I thought were corrupted to see if they would run, and they did beautifully.

Anyway, thought I'd let people know that my fix was expensive (new laptop!) but worked beautifully!
