What's your favorite way to store your gems?
« on: December 08, 2012, 03:07:52 AM »
I've been working on quite the collection of gems and metals. Looking at all those pretty shinies on the floor of my sims basement makes me a little sad. How do you guys store gems? Especially large collections of them?

In an Alchemy Cabinet, or a Treasure Chest. :)

Can you see them in an alchemy cabinet? I didn't even know you could store things besides elixirs in them! :)

From a Sim's perspective, no. They're not on "public display", so to speak. They can store some items on their shelves, I'd estimate about eight.

You can store anything in them, as long as that anything can be stored in inventory. I have over 300 Life Fruit in mine.

The cabinets combine a chest-like storage space with two display shelves for four items each. They're great. Your Sims get an interaction to store all gems, metals or elixirs when clicking on them, which is quite convenient too. There's also a smaller cabinet for insects.

Interesting. I'd thought about using the shelving that came with Generations. That's a lot of work though.
