My First Dynasty Challenge

So hey guys

I've known about the dynasty Challenges you guys hold for a while, but never have I tried to do one! But I just wanted to share about my first experience!!

I'm doing the Immortal Dynasty Challenge. I created a sim, his name is Jacob Aston. He wants to get to the top of the Journalism Career (I've never done this career in sims either). He lives in Twinbrook! (I've never used cheats to alter a sims money before so starting him off with just $1800 was quite a challenge for me!) I also have Seasons installed and had no money to build him a house and of course it rained for 2 days straight! Poor Jacob spent most of his time dripping wet!!  I bought him an umbrella but it also broke pretty quick

I gave him an artistic trait so he will do all the portaits of his dynasty.

He has met his true love on the first day! How awesome is that? Her name is Shyla and shes a paparazzi. Jacob and Shyla's first date was at the summer festival where they fell over spinning on the skating rink!! They also entered the hot dog eating competition and Jacob won! He now has the lifetime reward to have a leg up on all eating competitions!

Right now after 1 week he has a 2 room hut/house with one room being the bathroom and the rest being like a studio. It's not very big but it works for now until he can earn some more money! It helped that he could pick some wildflowers and sell them as well as chapters from his first book and a couple of paintings.

I usually play sims with a long lifespan so I can take my time getting everything perfect for my sims, so having it at the normal lifespan will be a challenge for me! Will get some snapshots to share soon

Is this going to be a story thread or are you just sharing your progress? If it's a story the thread will need to go on the Stories Board (Mods can move it for you) and if it's just sharing progress it can be merged with the Dynasty thread.

I'm glad your enjoying it! I've failed many times, mostly technical issues but I still keep coming back to it because it's so good!

Hiya just really sharing my progress, not really telling a story.  Currently not doing very well at all actually! I have made it to Adult stage and I'm not even half way through my career!! I dunno how people keep up with all the things to be done but just playing along and having fun at the same time

That's pretty much the reason I don't do challenges. Keeping track of a bunch of rules and whatnot is just not fun for me. And too, I play with mods since the EA story progression mode is more like a story stagnate mode.

If you didn't what to follow the rules, just do a unofficial Dynasty. getting HoF is hard, but at least you'd be able to break the rules a little if your not going for it. Esther did that, and her Dynasty is cool.

Aww thank you Greg. That reminds me, I really need to play them and update them!! But yes I started the Dynasty knowing full well it wasn't going to be for HoF, I even stated it in the first post! I follow 2 rules which is all immortals have their paintings painted and they never move off the lot. Except they did move towns, but that was only because of how much lag there was, I couldn't enjoy it so I moved them. Other than that though, I use needs static, which is against the rules!

Yeah I don't think I'm going to meet all the requirements - I might just loosely play with the rules a bit, I am enjoying having a little bit of a restriction on my game playing - it opens up some new possibilities! I might try the Legacy one too....
