Sims 3 won't open

Well, I've been trying to open the Sims 3 so I can play it for a good 30 minutes now, but it keeps telling me whenever I click the play button to insert the Ambitions game disc to start, (I have all expansions uploaded) even though it's already in. No matter how many times I re-insert it, the game keeps insisting it's not there and I need to put it in. :S

ChocolateKittens, I moved your post to the Technical section. Try shutting down and restarting. As simple as that sounds, sometimes that eliminates goofy behavior.

Aha, restarting my computer did work, thanks Metropolis Man. Oh, and sorry I didn't post this in the right topic, I was in a bit of a rush to get help.
