So how goes the butler-ing?

I have the newest updates, and I know that there have been countless issues with the hiring of a butler. In the past in my old games I had a butler who was invisible and I couldn't get rid of her. What I want to know is, did EA fix any of these butler issues and is it now "safe" to hire a butler?
