Nrass Story Progression: What to turn off to reduce lag?

So I just installed Nrass Story progression and it's lagging my game a bit. It's not horrible. It's kind of playable but I know it could be better.

While it is kind of cool seeing what's going on with everyone in town it's also completely unnecessary. Looking through all the settings is kind of confusing though so I'm hoping some one could tell me what to turn off and where to find it to get rid of all the notifications and to reduce lag.

It's enough to know the towns folk are actually doing stuff. I don't need to be constantly notified about every little thing and then to have to dismiss all those notifications is a pain.

One of the first few options on the main listing is "Stories". It defaults to "All". That controls which messages you get. Change it to one of the other options and while the events will still occur, you won't get the notifications. I prefer 'Blood' (limits it to Sims that are Blood relatives of the members of the current household).

Each individual category has the same option for limiting only the notices from within that category.

Any one have any suggestions about what aspects of it to disable to best reduce lag?

I adore Twallan's mods, but I simply can't use StoryProg any more because of lag. Thankfully stuff like Master Controller and Dreamer are still wonderful.

It's not that bad (for me, I have a decent gaming laptop) if I use just the base mod with no extensions. Are you using lots of extensions? That might be the problem.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to find anything that helps reduce lag.

You can reduce number of stories and you can also adjust how frequently the mod pushes Sims to do things like skill, enter romances, etc. I haven't adjusted any of them so I can't really tell you where to go to adjust that.

[StoryProgression] itself should produce a consistent stutter every time it performs a large calculation, which normally only occur every 10 sim-minutes or so.

A number of users have noted the mod is simply slow in general, and not the "lag every 10 sim-minutes" effect I would expect.

Leads me to believe the mod is coming into conflict with other CC installed on the user's setup in some undefined manner.

Personally, I keep my setup reasonably clear of custom content, I only have a couple of downloaded hairs installed.  The remainder is all EA Store content.

That difference may explain why I have not been able to reproduce the lag issue.
