« on: November 02, 2012, 12:31:43 AM »
There is a new store set available called Itadakimasu! Japanese Inspired Dining. It includes the latest Premium Content Item, the Chun Co. Teppanyaki Grill.

These are the options available:
-Perform Onion Volcano Trick
-Perform Egg Juggle Trick
-Toggle Grease Trap
-Serve:
Teppanyaki Vegetable Medley
Teppanyaki Chicken Fried Rice
Teppanyaki Pepper Steak (Cooking Level 2 Required)
Teppanyaki Jumbo Shrimp (Cooking Level 3 Required)
Teppanyaki Filet Mignon (Cooking Level 4 Required)
Teppanyaki Salmon (Cooking Level 5 Required)
Teppanyaki Lobster (Cooking Level 6 Required)
Teppanyaki Trio (Cooking Level 7 Required)

I think it's pretty neat as far as Premium Content goes, and the new furniture items that come in the set are quite nice as well.

It is currently on sale for 1250 Simpoints, and the set has 20 items plus the Grill! Regular Price is 1400 Simpoints. Sale ends November 15th. It is available here... Itadakimasu! Japanese Inspired Dining Store Set

It's a lovely set and some of the animations/tricks are the kind that you would see performed in an actual Teppanyaki restaurant. My only gripe is that quite a few of those dishes listed are not Japanese at all and not what you would expect to be served in a Teppanyaki restaurant.  I expected more actual Japanese dishes of which there are not many which is a shame. :-\ Aside from that however it does look pretty good and I like how they did the Japanese theme.  :)

The animations vary from dish to dish as well, for example the sim will crack an egg when making fried rice, but not when making vegetable medley. I love the cooking skill and every Sim family I play has at least one chef in it so this is my new favorite item.

Now I really can't wait to restart my immortal dynasty. This fancy grill will totally break the tedium of watching Journeyman cook 75 meals.

Just seeing the pictures makes me want to go out and get some hibachi.  It's one of my favorite type of restaurants ever.  I do like some of the things in this pack and while they're not offering a lot of variety on what can be made, I can understand why.   This is just additional gameplay not game changing content.  There has to be a limit or imagine the load it could cause your game.

Now to make my latest chef start playing with knives.

I'm not entirely certain that the meals will count for the skill challenge but you know I think I'm going to go check that right now.

I love Premium Content! :D
But all the performances you can make with cooking, can they fail? Because that means there might be a hidden skill in it.
Can't wait to see this baby as a stand alone item.
Btw: Chinese food is one of my favorite. Sushi! :D

Minor nitpick - Sushi is Japanese, not Chinese - China is a mainland sort of country, and so for those away from the coast, it's harder to get fresh fish that is suitable for sushi. Japan, however, is an island nation, and you don't have to travel too far to get to the coast. :)

You mean Filet Mignon isn't Japanese?

My level 10 cook has fun using it. My only gripe is that no one sits at the counter and when she finishes cooking, she carries the plate to the dining room table instead of serving it at the counter. Hope they fix that.
