Can't find downloaded new clothing from Sims store

I've been having a problem changing my sims into different clothing. Sure, I can change them into swimwear, nightgowns, athletic, etc, but it seems that even though I customized a lot of clothing when I first created them, they're only allowed to wear a limited amount of clothes (one outfit for each category). Is this normal for the game or am I missing something?

Which leads to my main question: I downloaded some of the new steampunk outfits (and other household objects) from the Sims store. While I can access the household objects within Buy mode, how do I access the clothing? Do I need a dresser for this?

Hi Viola!

When you first create your Sim, you only have one outfit of each type.  However, once you're in the game you need to click on a dresser to add more outfits or change them up.  You can have up to three outfits of each type.  This is also where you'll see the new outfits that you downloaded from the Store, as long as you installed them from the launcher.
