A 1920s era house needing heat, AC, new floors, new drywall on the walls and ceilings, new bathroom fixtures, new kitchen cabinets, new water heaters.... The roof is sound, but why didn't I just buy an empty lot?

Yes, it does. It's not specified as an increased chance for best sellers only, just an increase in both combined. With those traits, the opportunity bonus, level 10 writing and the Prolific Author challenge, it should be impossible to write anything worse then a hit.
