This contest was an idea I had (as I'm sure tons of others had the idea as well) and I so wanted to enter but between work and the fact I'm away from my Simming computer I couldn't enter *cries*

Ahk, sorry to hear that. I'm sure something similar will appear in the future though.  :)

Building Contest 2012: 22 - Rabbitholes Revealed - November 5, 2012 - November 18, 2012
    Katie123urgreat!

Congratulations Katie! Your entry was exactly how you'd imagine the interior of Divisadero Budget Books to look! You can see Katie's Entry here and download it here.

Katie123urgreat's Comment:

"Wow, I wasn't expecting this, that's for sure! Firstly, I'd like to congratulate all of the other competitors, your entries were all worthy of winning. I could feel the vibe for each of them, and immediately knew what building you were trying to portray. Secondly, I'd like to thank everyone who voted for me, it means a lot! And thirdly, I would like to thank Tom and Lily for taking your time to make others feel like they are a part of this community.

The moment I saw this contest, I knew I had to try out this one. This was my first time entering in one of the forum's many building contests, so I felt even more enthusiastic about it.  Even though my knowledge on community lots wasn't that great, I still enjoyed this contest. I got to learn new things, improve my building skills and of course have fun! "

Like I said in the comment, I really enjoyed taking part in this contest.
As you might've seen, I tried matching the actual Bookstore from Sunset Valley (and Riverview) as much as possible. It was quite hard to find some matching objects, since only a few came with the EPs I've got. I have to be hard on myself, right now. I personally don't like the bricks for the facade. It took me a while to find the right colour to match the actual rabbithole, and then gave up. The bricks somehow make me feel like it's incomplete. The exterior wall for the ground floor, took me a very long time to be final with it. Since the wallpapers aren't 3D, I had to use piping on the corners to look like they were a part of the wall. It took me a while to get the outside complete, since I wanted to be as exact as possible. The interior didn't take as long as I thought, except for the recolouring.
I am open for constructive criticism.  :)

Congratulations, Katie! What a clever concept for a build. My favourite part is definitely the exterior (of course) but I also like the layout of each floor. It'd make an adorable library.  :)

Ladybug: A lovely concept and a lovely build  :). You followed the Chinese theme to perfection (I especially like the wallpaper for some reason). I personally wouldn't have put the stairs outside, but it works well for your restaurant.

I'm open to comments on my build, as usual.

Thank you, Ausette, Neashaleigh and Ladybug.  :)
Ausette - I absolutely loved your building. Despite what you said about it, I didn't find your building's interior rushed. You don't exactly expect plush couches in the corridors or foyers. The inside of the offices and labs were how I imagined them to be.
Ladybug - Your theme was wonderfully executed throughout the entire building. I agree with Ausette, I would've put the stairs on the inside, too. Other than that, a very imaginative build.

@ Ausette. I tried many times to place the stairs going to the Bistro inside my restaurant but couldn't make it work. I will try this kind of build again to get better at it. I really enjoyed doing this contest. It was a great challenge which I enjoy.  :)
