Sim reset home when using Consignment Shop

hi everyone.  I'm unable to use the consignment shop.  I've only started to use it recently in the last couple of weeks and it was going fine.  He's been buying books mostly and I've just started to sell books he's written.  However, every time he speaks to the specialist no menu comes up and he is directly reset home.  I tried to cancel his consignment items, but the same thing happens.  I can't sell, buy or cancel anything.  I tried searching the forum but haven't seen this particular issue.

I replaced the cash register first, then the store and I tried the store with a different sim and it was fine.  Even with the new store and specialist my character is reset to home.

Can anyone help me with this.

It looks like your sim are bugged. Try and evict him to the clipboard in edit town and move him right in. It also can be something in his inventory. But evicting him may do the trick.

Hi Louise56.  Thanks for responding.  After my post I did try the evicting and putting him back into the house.  No go.  Same problem exists.  He has quite a bit of stuff in his inventory.  Mostly vacation special purchases and tomb rewards.  Can you recommend a way for me to check the items out.  I certainly don't want to delete them.  Some things can't be deleted or even moved out of the inventory.

Check for unknown seeds, especially special ones. They seem to be the ones that cause this kind of issue. Take them out of inventory. If they are stuck in inventory you can move everything out of his inventory that you can, move him out and move him back in. If that doesn't work there are some mods (twallan's master controller and awesomemod) that allow you to delete stuck items in inventory. Good luck!

There was a time when Generations came out that if you got items stuck in your inventory that a little travel could sometimes help.  Maybe try traveling to see if that helps with the items being stuck.  You might lose any fish you have in there but you'd at least be able to move things back out if it works correctly.   As for the quantity of things in your inventory, I almost always recommend having as few things as possible to avoid bugs & glitches.  I keep relics and things in a chest on my lot or I display them properly.    This might also help the issue.

I don't have any seeds.  The things in the inventory are pangu's ax, master theif coin, tears of horus, eyes of horus, etc.  I did take up the suggestion of the chest and put these items in it.
Otherwise though, there are now just a few 'toys' and still I can't use the shop.  I tried to replace the shop again as well as the lot.  No go.

I decided to start my town over.  I do keep regular saved copies of some sims, so I'm just starting from there.  He has to re-write his books though.
Thanks for trying to help.  Maybe it was the sim.
