Transfiguration Displays

Hey everyone,

I read carls guide for transfiguration and tried several things and it works great. Soulpeace gems are such money makers, love it.

I got one question to the displays though.

In the guide he wrote "To try transfiguration, your Sim will need to purchase the Carter's Display Case XL Edition.". I must confess, I hate that display, it's so large and takes up so much space. Because my sim is a traveller I bought the smaller version first to display some stuff. And I was surprised to find out, that you can use this also for transfiguration?! What is the difference? I know I need 10 objects for the smaller display and for the huge display it's only 8, but are there more differences?

Thanks
Naora

I think the only difference, is the amount of items you can display.  I don't know for sure if the outcome of transfiguring is any different.  I like the smaller one myself and was delighted that you could use that one for transfiguring also.  I found that out quite by accident.  I agree, they are money makers if your formula is just right.

It really looks like the outcome is the same. Though if you don't care about putting more gems in the transfiguration process one can use the smaller display. That's great, the huge display just took too much space!

The only real drawback to using the smaller display case for transfigurification is that the formulas you use have to be adjusted because of the two extra slots.  It's slightly more difficult to get what you want using the small case.

You are right Pam. I get a lot of skullcuts...though I wanted to create soulpeaces. Too sad... :(

Metals shouldn't a problem, because as I remember you can stack the bars.  Gems are a different story, because I believe it requires a specific number to get what you want reliably.  I didn't even know that the smaller version worked for that, so I've never had the opportunity to test it.

Thought I would post on this old thread instead of making a new one.  I have found, that if you put two gems of any kind on the top of the display case and put the rest gem dust, 9 times out of 10, you will get soulpeace.  I made them into large sculptors eggs and they are each worth over $10,000.  So at least I found one way to get rid of the dust, lol.

I had not thought of using the smaller table for transfiguration.  Thank you, I'll give it a try.  I always make a large basement with a cellar below when I build and put my transfiguration table and nectar makers in the basement.  Its useful extra space for any large items not in regular daily use.  Also, when I am no longer using these items on a regular basis, I store them in the family inventory.   I just get them out when required and place them in the garden if my basement is being used for other things.
