Has anyone experimented with playing the Sims 3 on any version of Linux (rather than Windows or OSX)?
I'm installing fedora 13 on my new (for me) refurbished laptop even as I type this. I've been able to run the original Sims and Sims 2 (with assorted packs) on older linux systems.
There seems to be a few options that are supposed to work:
Wine + PlayonLinux: Wine is a free system that lets you run lots of windows programs on linux (by providing a fake windows environment and fake registry).
Cedega: I've used this for other games in the past (including the Sims 2). It's a pay program but I've always found it worth the cost given that it gives me games I can't play any other way.
I'm not asking for help, I'm just curious if anyone here is running on the alternative OS
.
