Regional game versions
« on: September 26, 2012, 03:42:38 PM »
I would like to get Supernatural soon but I have some technical questions. Maybe I'm a little paranoid but my game is finally running as it should be and I want it to last!

I just checked my skuversion files to see which version of the game and EPs I had, and it turns out I have the North American version (which is weird, since I bought them in Chile! I would have expected the Worldwide version). So, if I buy Supernatural tomorrow, in Germany, and get the European version... will my game start torturing me with bugs and errors again? I am hoping EA was smart enough to make all the versions compatible, but last time I manually patched and downloaded the Worldwide version of the patch I got an error saying it wasn't compatible, so... who knows.

Thanks :)

Moving this to the technical board, you might get more help there.  :)

I was just heading here to update LOL! I used the live chat thing in the official website. A guy/girl named Manish told me that installing the game would be OK, but maybe updating it wouldn't. But he suggested just buying the disk, registering the serial key and downloading it from Origin to avoid compatibility  issues, as Origin downloads have no specific region code, just "Digital download".

Anyways, I didn't need it since after buying the game I found out that they sell the US version of it in Germany too. It drives me nuts that EA hasn't figured out to at least write the region code on the box or just make them all compatible with each other!  ::)
