Can't Enter Create-a-Basement
« on: June 17, 2010, 04:15:02 PM »
Sorry for the title :P

When I'm trying to edit a house by building a basement, my game just disappears, no error, nothing, it just takes me back to the desktop.

On a side note, I am starting a new game in Sunset Valley, WA installed 1.6 patch (I believe). Maybe I need to make the basement while in-game, but I post this to see if I can get any answers in the meantime.

I had this happen when I was playing a house downloaded from the Exchange that had been built prior to World Adventures.  It was something to do with being incompatible with WA.  If you're using a house from the Exchange, this might be the problem.

Thanks, Pam! ;D

I tested with other houses and the basement tool works, so I believe it's what you mentioned. Too bad though, it is a beautiful modern-zen house I planned to use when my Legacy (Starting next week, have to get Ambitions ::)) reached a certain point :'(.

You have to be careful with houses you download from the Exchange.  Many of them have third party custom content installed that gets into your game when you download and install the house.  It can really mess up your game.  I try to find builders who don't use third party content.
