    The Sims 3 Pets for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360

Wow, a whole whopping year of creative online exchange joy? Their servers must be fossilized by now! 

Curiously, the older 'vanilla' Sims3 port are not on EA's hitlist. I wonder why, seeing as it is older, buggier and has less functions?

Oh right, they can still cash in on some payed downloads available for that one.

Why, EA? Just... just... why? 

Also, there wasn't even an announcement on the sims3 website, and the simguru message I got on my PS3 wasn't even readable because the text got cut off with no way of scrolling.

Maybe it was just me, but I very rarely got the online exchange to work for TS3 Pets. I would constantly get kicked off the server, which was really frustrating trying to share pets with friends. I finally just quit using it, too much of a pain. But, yeah, I see your point with the older S3 that is still up and running.

According to EA, it's the small amount of customers that determines when service is discontinued.  Apparently Pets didn't have as many players as the vanilla game.
