Can't see a full picture of the haircuts in the sims 3 store

I want to buy some haircuts from the store, but the problem is they only have "detail" pictures of the haircuts, meaning that the pics show the head but not the shoulders, so unless it is a short hair cut, I can only see part of the hair cut.. if that makes sence. It's very strange only showing part of what you're selling - I wanna see the whole thing before I decide if I want it or not!

So does anyone know if there are better pictures out there? I've tried google and searched this forum as well but haven't found any discussions about this issue..

If you want to take a look, go to the store and then look under hair, and you will see the not-so-helpful-pictures of what they´re selling. Weird marketing technique I must say..

Yeah, this has long been a pet peeve of mine.  I tend to avoid buying long hairdos because of it.  The only thing I can think of is to see if the hairdo is part of a set, because in the set they will often show a group of Sims wearing the clothes and/or hairdos, and you can get a better view there.

There is probably at least one member who might own the haircut as well.  In fact, there is a chance that I do so if there is any in particular you want to see, I could always hop into CAS and take some photos for you later.   PM me the styles you want and I'll get back to you as soon as is possible.

Aside from checking recent stories on the forum, I've found the best thing to do is to look up the specific hairstyle in a Google Images search. I've also found this blog quite helpful.

SimsVip also have a section showing Store hairstyles in CAS, so you can better see what they look like. You can find a drop-down menu at the top of the page - 'Store Content', and the bottom option 'Store Hairstyles' has links to pictures of hairstyles for different genders and ages.

Oh, and also, does anyone know if I buy a hairstyle for a young adult female, will that hairstyle not be available when she becomes and adult? Do I have to buy the same style twice - one fore YA and one for adult?

No you don't have to buy it twice for Young Adult and Adult, all hairstyles are compatible with both lifestages. Some hairstyles are available for teen and elder as well, all from one purchase

And while I'm at it, is it possible to have expansions installed in a way so that you can simply use the extra hair, clothes and furniture from that expansion without it affecting the game in other ways? For example, I love some of the stuff in Late Night, but can't stand the celebrity aspects of the game anymore. Is there anyway to install it just to get the hair and stuff? I assume not, but that would be so great if it were possible..

I'm not sure about all the EPs, but I know that will the latest patch you can turn off the celebrities and vampires from Late Night in population controls. There is more about it in this thread.
