Paintings with a purple frame in buy mode
« on: March 18, 2013, 04:41:33 PM »
Hey guys,
I recently noticed this when decorating one of my houses. Some paintings that come with SN (and ONLY SN) have a red border around them in the object catalog. Meaning, where its usually just a blue frame, its red and white. Is there any significance behind that? The only thing I can think of is if the paintings were haunted, but I haven't played that house enough to notice if they were.

EDIT;
MAJOR HEADDESK MOMENT. They're purple. Not red.

EDIT2;

There you go. A little dark (don't know why my print screen turned out like that) but those are the two different ones. Notice how the first painting in the catalog is 'normal', but the other ones have that weird border.

Aren't they just too expensive for your current family funds?

Nah, they're not red(ed) out, they just have a different border. The paintings beyond and between are fine.

Whoops, just updated the description. They're not purple, they're white. Hang on, let me get a screenshot.

Those are the paintings that came with Supernatural that change.   When the sun goes down and the moon comes up, they have totally different pictures in them.  Some of them, no most of them are  freaky.

I don't like haunted paintings! Time to replace all of the haunted ones then...

There's one in Aliester's Elixir and Sundries near the gemcutter.  I though it changed but I believed I was mistaken.  Thanks Rica!

I had a few moments so thought I'd share some photos of the paintings.  There are ten.  The upper portion is daylight and the lower portion is night time which seems to start at 6 pm.  Same as the lunar cycle.

Hmm... since I get the majority of these creepy paintings from admirers through love letters, I'm thinking my Sims aren't as attractive as I thought.  ;)

Not attractive but awesome, eh...? :P

These paintings are perfect for Gothic Sims, especially when placed in their room ;D
