Married to elder but wants first child
« on: July 09, 2010, 01:33:51 PM »
A unique situation for me.  My main sim in Twinbrook, a male, recently married one of his love interests who just turned to an elder. :P  I didn't know at the time he asked to be boyfriend/girlfriend that the very next day she would turn to elder. ::)  Anywho, I was going to have him break up with her except for the fact that almost every wish he rolled is about Marie. ::)  So they got married.  Now he wants a first child...my longwinded question is, for those of you who have had a child through the time machine, did you woohoo for baby in past to get a toddler?  I want my sim to have baby with another love interest via the time machine, but I definitely don't want another elder on my hands. :P  My solution is to sidetrack wifey by sending her to park to make friends and calling another love interest over to "do it" in the time machine.  Tricky! :D

The things I go through to give the simmies what they want...I only hope they appreciate it. :D

Any suggestions/proven solutions to my problem out there?

Does adopting satisfy the have first child wish?  If so, try that.  And if you don't want the kid, age him up with cakes and boot him out!

Hey ArcherO...nope, unfortunately adopting doesn't fulfill the wish.  If I don't get any solutions I guess I can always just delete the wish, but I was kind of hoping for a child from him too.  My Twinbrook isn't getting the babies and toddlers like the other towns so I kinda hoped he could have at least one.

Thanks for the response anyway. :)

Actually, yes, adoption does fulfill the "have first child" wish.  A while back I had a male sim who married an elder Bella Bachelor and they both wanted to have their first child, so I adopted and it fulfilled their wishes.  I went on to adopt another child for them as well.

I had that wish some time ago with another sim and adopt didn't fulfill it.

I will make sure and save before the action, adopt then see.  I would have adopted but because of the previous experience, thought that not possible.  Thanks...will give it a try.  I really don't like having my simmies cheat on each other when they are crazy about each other. :)

You could give the husband and wife "No Jealousy", pick a surrogate mother, invite her to move in via "friendly" interaction, give her "No Jealousy" too, have a kid with her, then move the mom out and keep the kid.  That keeps everything civilized and above board.

Too bad he can't be abducted by aliens.  That would make it much simpler.

@Darkstone... :D that would definitely fulfill the wish.

@Aria and ArcherO, it worked! :o  Thanks for all the responses guys! ;D

The only thing I can think of is maybe the wish that wasn't fulfill by adoption was to have a first child with so-and-so.  I could've sworn it was have a first baby.  No matter, simmie's wish was granted and we're both happy campers. ;D

With my Bella scenario above, for the second child he wanted to "have child with Bella" and the adoption worked to fulfill that wish.

I really like it that adoption fulfills such wishes, because to me it seems more like real life.  :)

Out of curiosity, does it matter which sim calls the adoption service?
