Sims 3 Crashes While Loading

I had recently patched to the most recent patch, but accidentally hit decline on the store patch. Now whenever I try to start the game, whenever it gets to the loading screen, it crashes. Help?

PS: I'm on Win7 64 Bit.

Oh and I do have a backup of the Sims 3 located on my computer, if that helps. I also removed all the mods.

The crashing may be related to the actual patch not just the store content being denied.   I would suggest making a factory reset folder and seeing if it still crashes.  I read earlier that people were having problems with some of their installed items causing the issue.

Also make sure that you've set up DEP.

DEP? What is that and how do I set it up?
Also, how do I make a factory reset folder?

A factory reset is basically creating a whole new The Sims 3 Folder. If I'm correct. I'm not sure about the DEP settings. Hubby's more the computer genius in our family. *Snicker*  So he'd know more.

Thank you for your help. I did do the factory reset...
but I think I found what may have been causing the issue.

I play with StoryProgression and MasterController mods [Nraas]... When I went to reinstall the MC mod it started crashing again. So I removed the mod and so far so good.
