Placing lots in CAW

Hi!

I'm trying to use the Riverview Lite file to create my own world, mainly because I'm lazy and hate placing roads and bridges and dealing with routing stuff and all that. So I started directly by placing lots around the roads already placed by EA. My question is:

Is there a way of placing a lot beside the river without the river turning into earth? I'm trying to make like a "river beach" but when I  place the lot, the piece of river in it disappears and turns into normal terrain. Of course I can just place the lot differently leaving a distance between the river and the lot, but I was thinking about building a pier or something like that there so I thought I would ask.

That's interesting - they don't do that for me in worlds I have created. They always just go into the water. Maybe someone else knows something more?

Really?  That's weird since I haven't touched any CAW settings. I'm new in this and there are lots and lots of stuff I don't really understand so I just leave everything be  .

What happens if you delete the lot, then undo?

Are you adding lots in CAW, or in EiG?

And does the water seem to be there, but just more 'see-through' (i.e. the terrain paint is clearly visible, with water effects above it)? Or is it missing completely, as in this picture:

I'm trying in CAW. I assume it's not even possible in EiG?

What happens is that the water is raised to the level of the riverbank actually, so the lot gets flattened. It only happens with water though, if I place a lot on a mountain the terrain isn't altered.

Weird thing is, I just tried in a brand new Riverview Lite file and it works. The terrain paint gets altered, but at least the terrain remains how it shoud be. So... maybe the other file is bugged somehow? I don't know if that's even possible but it's weird that it works in one file and not the other. I guess I could just move everything to a new file... thank God I have only built stuff in lots, I haven't placed trees or any decor stuff yet. It would still be a pain to re-place all the custom lots exactly the same size so that my lots fit in them, but still, I could just save everything to the library and then place everything again.
