Loading Screen Frozen

After reinstalling all of my games over the last couple of days, I played last night and managed to get the Custom Content error again but that's not why I'm writing this time.   Today I went to load my game and this is what I got.



It's been like this forever (20 minutes).  The bar never progresses.  I did a factory reset and I'm still getting the same screen.  I really have no idea what to do.

It seems as if your game doesn't understand how to continue...
Have you tried starting up from a previous EP or SP?

After I had written that message earlier (three hours ago), I loaded the game and left it there.  I just checked and that loading bar is still not filling up at all. 

What I'm going to try is uninstalling Diesel and reinstalling it to see if that clears any of it up without having to do a full reinstall again.  I just thought of it in between afternoon playtime.

That was my second option actually ;-)
But before doing that, you could try if you can start up from another pack than Diesel. Katy Perry perhaps or Showtime.

Starting it trying to use one of the other games caused the same problem.  I tried that right before hitting the uninstall because I just couldn't help but wonder.


The reinstalling seems to have worked for now but I think I'll this open just in case.   I'm beginning to think that Karma doesn't want my dynasty to finish.

I came to believe that's how it works with the Sims... just be happy now and leave it for what it is as long as it works... Don't try to make it perfect. I mean, just be happy when it works and don't change a thing anymore... Hope you understand tired-and-not-native-english me

Btw... what bad karma could you be having then? Did something naughty?

If it happens again, try deleting your cache files (as many as five depending on what EPs you have) - I get load freezes like this on a somewhat regular basis and it usually only takes deleting the cache files to solve the problem.  Also check your "current game" folder after any game crash or force quit - this folder should be empty if your game shut down properly but if you've had a crash, files will remain and logic suggest that they could conflict with the loading process.   

Although the fact that you were loading a new EP and were having some CC issues at the time likely means it was something else.

I still get the crashes due to CC when the game is quitting but I'm no longer getting caught on the loading screen.  Thank you for the advice and I'll keep it mind.  I delete my cache files & DCBackup everyday at this point as maintenance before I play.
