Game wont load, saved game saying it is severly damaged

Please help me!!

My game when i load it up and press on my family/household to load, it starts loading but then the screen goes funny and a message saying something like they couldnt load "starlight shores" (name of my saved game) and a severe error occurred! and recommended to restart the game and I did but it just did the same thing! I've cleaned useless things from the sims 3 electronic arts folder and it's still not working.

What do I do?

It looks like your save file is corrupt. Go to: Documents - Electronic Arts - Sims 3 - Saves and see if the save you're having trouble with ends with .bad instead of .sims3.

As far as I know, if you have a .bad file in there there's not much you can do except trying this:

You will have to go to a previous save and therefore lose some progress in your game, but you might get your family back.
