Icon stuck in moodlet panel
« on: August 17, 2012, 12:56:26 AM »
Hi,  I have a sim who has a negative icon (it's a "hunted" icon from an unfriendly vampire) stuck in the moodlet panel.  It has been there since she was a child (or maybe when she first became a teen - not sure) and is now a young adult.  It's the first icon in the tray and is worth a -10 so I can only assume that it effects her mood at all times, plus her reward points.  Is there a way to get rid of this.
thanks, Bear

Yes, definitely!  You need to enable testing cheats by pressing Ctrl+Shift+C and typing "testingcheatsenabled true" then press Enter.  Now you just Shift+Click the moodlet you want to get rid of.  I'm pretty sure it's Shift.  If it doesn't work, try Ctrl+Click.  Then turn off testing cheats by doing Ctrl+Shift+C again and typing "testingcheatsenabled false" and Enter.

Oh!  Thanks so much.  It's gone and it was the control+click.  That's great.  I've never had need of that before.

You're welcome.  It's a handy little cheat if you're not playing a challenge.

If you are playing in a challenge where cheats are not allowed then use a Moodlet Manager if you have one.  :)

Hi Rainbow Dash, I had already eliminated the negative icon before I saw your post.  I do have a moodlet manager for another character.  Not totally sure what it does.  I've had him use a cure on other sims,  they all seemed pleased.  I've not tried it on himself, so I had him do a cure on himself although he had no negative icons.  The result was sleep deprivation.  Good thing he was beside his bed when I tried this.  Can I take it this is only a good idea for negative icons?  If so, how do I know when to use it on other sims without causing something negative?

The Moodlet Manager is designed to remove negative moodlets from either the Sim who has it or any other Sim he points it to.  The thing with sleep deprivation is just that the Moodlet Manager didn't work that particular time.  It's not always 100% successful, which is part of what makes it fun.  When it happens, just try the cure again until it actually does what it's supposed to do.  It won't do anything to the positive moodlet icons, just the negative ones.  When it removes the negative moodlet, the associated needs bar will fill all the way with green.  For example, if your Sim has the hungry moodlet and you use the Moodlet Manager on him, the negative hungry moodlet will go away and the hunger bar will go all the way green.  If your Sim only has a half full needs bar, it won't do anything for that because it has to be low enough to trigger a negative moodlet.

I hope this helps.  You can also read about the Moodlet Manager and all the other Lifetime Happiness Rewards on Carl's Guide.
