Ranked Chess Matches

Sseem to be glitched. My sim invites his opponent over and he arrives and then leaves. It happens on both commercial and residential lots.

Is the opponent a vampire?  It happened to me when I invited vamps over during the day.

No, the opponent is a werewolf. I'm attempting a Life States Dynasty in Moonlight Falls. I have tried quitting and going back to a previous save, but it doesn't help.

Do you get anything in the upper right corner when the opponent leaves?  Like maybe he's going to work or something?  Are you actually inviting the opponent into the house?  What happens when you click the chess table to start the match?

I have my sim greet the opponent and then all the options are grayed out and the opponent leaves. If I click on the chess table the only oprion I get is to practice chess.
I have invited the opponent to the park and the same thing happens. The opponent shows up and then leaves immediately.

Do you get any messages about why he's leaving?  If it's at a time of day when he has to go to work, he won't stay.  That's just strange that you don't even have any interactions available.  Hover over the ones that are grayed out and see what they say.  Sometimes it will tell you the reason it's grayed out.

The grayed out options are to "practice chess with" and "challenge **** to matched chess game".
When the opponent leaves there is no message. He arrives and then leaves. No interactions are available. It happens at differenet times of day. The opponent is an elder now and my sim is 4 days from elder.
He needs this challenge  to qualify for the Life State Dynasty.

I don't play dynasty games, so this may not help if it's against the rules.  I have had your problem in my home town (and I don't have EP's for vampires, warewolves etc.), but, can usually complete the challenge in China.  Go to acadamy, with tent and plenty of food (dried or fruit).  Stay there and keep inviting sims to play ranked game there.  (Unless you have a vacation home, in which case invite them there.

I sent my sim to Egypt(opportunity) and he was able to invite the chess opponents. He is now Rank 4 and I will have to send him on another vacation just to finish the skill challenge.
But, the good news is that he was able to do the skill challenge while on vacation.

It says the name of the opponent in the grayed out options?  If you'll hover your pointer over the grayed out options, it should show you the reason it's grayed out.  That's what we're looking for at this point.
