How do I remove sims 3 permanently?
« on: August 03, 2012, 04:56:01 AM »
I do apologise for multiple topics, but since we can't discuss few subjects in one I am creating few topics with some questions I need to be resolved.

When I moved my games from Steam to Origin I uninstalled all my Steam sims and then re-installed all. I found that my old game was still there with my old family and all the saves. I want to delete all the saves and all CC, all the rubbish form my game and have a fresh start. Reasons for this are: I don't think I started a good game since that family was my first ever on sims 3, I could have done many things differently. Secondly is due to deleting all the CC the family looks really messed up. I don't want them there and I want to clean up my pc form all the rubbish. I want to start a fresh game.

I tried to look: my documents/Electronic Arts but there is not  a such folder in there, in fact there is no such folder anywhere in my PC. Also when I uninstalled my sims 3 it asked if I wanted to remove all the data (or whatever) and I said yes, maybe that is the reason I can't find the folder? but then my old saves still there when I re-installed sims 3. Please help.

Did you go to your documents file, and delete the stuff in the EA folder?  I would think that the folder would be wiped when you did the uninstall, but you might want to check.

There is a free, uninstaller that can be downloaded called Revo Uninstaller.  When you bring this up it will show everything you have on your pc so be careful what you select to uninstall.  Yes, it will show any Sims that may be lurking where you can't find them and will even remove all the registry files so NOTHING of Sims will be left.  Then after doing the Revo, you would have a clean slate to reinstall a fresh batch of Sims.  Here's the link:

We have a thread with information on how to manually uninstall all of Sims 3.  Maybe it will help.

Also, I'm moving this to the Technical Help board.

I just went to the control panel and used the uninstall feature on anything that said "sims".  Will this not work, because it is different than the instructions in the thread that Pam linked?  I also just downloaded the Revo uninstaller Joria linked, and it doesn't currently show any sims related stuff on my computer.

Using the Control Panel normally works, but if the uninstall becomes difficult, the manual uninstallation is supposed to work well.

Ok.  The control panel uninstallation when smoothly, if a bit tedious.  Thanks for the info.
