Double Eye Reflections (Problem)
« on: July 31, 2012, 11:25:11 PM »
There's this...issue I'm having with my sim. He has two reflections in each eye near the pupil. Note that CC was turned off when I took this screenie:

It really does make him look too happy. Anyways, I would like to know how to get rid of this. I have downloaded default replacements, but I think I put two in at a time and can't find the files anymore in my "Packages" folder. I removed the visible files concerning iris replacements though (there were none). Since CC was turned off by launcher, there's no way the Sim2Pack files are to blame (so no, I don't think Delphy can help in this case).

Any advice/tips concerning getting rid of the reflections?

Welcome to our Forum.

Am I understanding this correctly?  You had installed two CC programs that both changed the eyes and now you've got two white spots on the eyes instead of one?  Have you tried removing your CC completely?  If this is an issue about CC not working right, I don't think we'll be able to help you because we don't endorse the use of CC and have rules about even discussing it or linking to it.

It's not CC. The same thing has just started happening to me in my factory reset folder. I'm wondering if it's an EA update or something to do with my graphics settings, but I don't like it.

I have it also, big it doesn't bother me. Are you using a mods folder? Sometimes CC is installed in there. Did you move the mods folder back over to the factory reset?

I don't have a mods folder in my factory reset folder. Because I use it for exporting sims, I want to make sure that nothing attaches itself to the .sims3packs.

I noticed it after I installed Showtime. I figured it must have sometime to do with new career types. Not to sure.

Is the effect only seen in CAS, or also in Live mode too?  I myself haven't noticed this since my computer with sims3 on it has been down for ove a month.

I think it might ?? be something new in the game itself? As some of my sim people have that type of reflection too.  I figured it was part of an update or whatever. Nothing to do with mods or CC.

I figured out it had nothing to do with CC last night. The default replacements and contacts work properly. The shine is on a different layer than the irises.
Could it be part of the Showtime patch(es)?

@sdhoey: I doubt it has to do with careers since my female Sim is a singer and has a less obvious version of the shine (due to how I made her). This Sim is a secret agent (level 9 on law enforcement).
@folcon: It's in both CAS and live mode - wherever bright lighting is directly hitting the Sim's face.

Maybe it just has to do with the in-game lighting sources. I've gotten the same effect with and without my default-replacements.

It's a little excessive, but it hasn't bothered me too much.

Someone should make a mod to get rid of it. Just saying.

Any advice/tips concerning getting rid of the reflections?

Those reflections are from two separate light sources in CAS - like 2 different gallery track lights.
