Treasure chests empty

Hi. Anybody ever gotten to China, and on the first adventure, the treasure chests were empty? Well, okay fine, if you don't mind not getting treasure! But, when you need to have the key to a door so you can complete your adventure, well, that's not fine! I have not changed anything, except to install University. Today, I tried to go to China and that is when this snafu happened.

if anybody can help/have suggestions, I will greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
