Video card glitch?

I was in the middle of furnishing my new beach house, and the screen went black for maybe 5 seconds. It then went back to normal, but the mouse glitched out. Here is a diagram:

                                X  -  When I click, the object here gets picked up when...





                                                               X - I click down here.

I can't save when this happens because the (...) menu is in the bottom left, and I can't click on it. I've lost several hours of work so far,  but it just started happening maybe 1 week ago.
Does anyone know the cause/solution?

How long have you been playing the game for when that happened? (I mean the game session)
How much RAM do you have?

Are you Windows 7? Because I THINK I've had this recently.

Did a popup on the desktop say something along the lines of "The device driver ATI stopped responding and recovered?"

Are you on a laptop? If so, in the bottom right of the base (below the keyboard), is there a sticker saying "Radeon Graphics"?

Naga: 20-30 minutes.
Seabody: Didn't get a message and this is a desktop.

Information:

Windows 7 64-bit.  8GB of RAM. Intel i7 CPU.

Oh, and I tried and Alt-Tabbing works. Still would be nice to know how to fix, but it makes it less important.
