Teen having too many problems
« on: July 27, 2012, 06:49:56 AM »
My sims couple's first son (who is my favourite kid) has too many problems. He has bad relationship with most people, I don't know how he managed that really. I am playing with 5 sims in the family so sometimes some things skip am attention. He was friends with his parent until the twins were born and then now their relationship bar is red. He had a Girlfriend (who I created and moved in edit town) they were going steady and then he decided to fool around with other girl, now he and his girlfriend are totally red bar even though they have not broken up, she keeps snubbing him and every effort he makes she won't have it. Their bar is as red as it can get but I really want them to get back together. He is still seeing other girl and they are going very well, even though he has not asked her to go steady or even to go to prom.  Anyone can give me some advice>? I am having him send to boarding school for a bit, to give him and a family a break and to sort out his sneaking glitch.

His traits may have a bearing on why his relationships are not going well.

I agree. Two traits that come to mind are Commitment Issues and Hot Headed. Also maybe Mean Spirited. That won't serve him well at all... But evil sims or even just a little twisted like the above traits might invoke, make good criminals. Good luck sorting your kid out... Maybe he's just born for the dark side.

It's also possibe that, as a Teen, he's had a bunch of mood swings, and they can really make a teen act up and lose friends...

If he really doesn't want to go back to his girlfriend though, maybe it's time to go with his wishes? I know it's hard when you've set your heart on a partner for your sim, but they do have a tendency to make their own wishes known, and in Sims, as in life, things don't always work out the way we plan...

I saw a sitcom once where the child was being troublesome. The mom tells the dad "She's getting involved with 'that' kind of people!" The dad the tells the mom: "Honey, our daughter IS 'that' kind of people..." Looks like you might have one of "those" kids, hahaha!

Well only one of his traits I can think of is Evil, but so is his father and his other brother. He and his father used to be best buddies until he started getting in trouble being caught after curfew, but so did his twin siblings, yet they are not at war with the parents and they are best friends with each other, while they have a red bar with Edward. I am thinking to start making difference, maybe send him on holidays with his parents. I sent younger twin on holidays alone with his mom and they became best buddies. It does cost money but they can just barely afford it after building a new house.

It sounds like your Sim needs attention from you.  If you're letting him do whatever he wants, he tends to get into trouble.  For your Sim to do what you want, you have to fully control the Sim.  Even if he's been fighting, he can start being friendly again with other Sims after a day or two to let the others calm down.  You just have to keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't stay out too late or pick fights when he's having a mood swing day.
