Well, I couldn't use the chapel after all. When I chose, "Throw a Party At...." it wouldn't let me select that spot. So I'll have to check and see what it's listed as. If it's something like, "Visitors Allowed" that might not be an available spot like a park or club is.
So I did it at home. It was THE most nerve wracking thing ever from start to finish.....which it never finished till 5 am because the guests wouldn't leave! I had to reset them to get them to go home.
I didn't know about all the things you guys mentioned and I forgot it would be a good thing to have the groom be at the house. Fortunately he did show up at this very formal affair dressed in distessed jeans and a sloppy shirt. Arrrrgggghhhh! Fifteen guests showed up, not counting the paparazzi so that was good but a bit confusing. I didn't expect that many and even though I thought I had more than enough chairs I didn't so that delayed things quite a bit. Then the groom decided to go running around the yard talking to everyone except the bride. Finally, after much yelling at the computer, (with husband trying not to laugh in the background which was forgiveable because he was cooking dinner), and much threatening to turn the thing off, they actually did stand under the arch and exchange rings, and cut the cake and dance together. All the while the guests totally ignored the food, or took plates of cake and left them everywhere while half of them stood around cheering and throwing confetti till 5 am. In retrospect it was pretty funny but sure wasn't at the time. Of course, when the moment finally arrived I was actually in tears of joy for them. They are such a cute couple!
Things didn't improve later when I tried to get them to whoo hoo. I mean, this IS a dynasty and heirs are part of it, right? They both were very interested in the concept except the bride kept stamping her foot at the bed because the groom took HER side of the bed! I moved everything away for the sides of the bed so there wasn't a traffic issue but no, she insisted on HER side of the bed. They finally discovered whoohooing in the shower could be fun so that was fixed. Meanwhile, her mom and dad who are both elders didn't need any coaching.
Oh yeah, and the father-in-law, Giovanni Gepetto, moved in with them all so I now have 7 in the house with at least 77 Sim days till we bid a sad farewell to the elderly mortals.
From now on my weddings are all going to be the "Private" variety. (Although it really was quite lovely in the end).
