Unable to select sims!
« on: July 14, 2012, 09:30:16 PM »
So today I was playing with the graphics on my game.  I bumped the sim detail and visual effects to high.  They'd both been on medium.

After restarting my game, I noticed that the area on the side of the screen where you can select sims was gone.  My funds had also been set to zero; I recall that I had a little over a thousand simoleans when I last played.  In addition, the mood bar was an odd blue color.

I think that I've seen the same problem on this forum before, but I can't find it now, so I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place.

Can anyone help me?

EDIT: Should probably add that I don't use Custom Content and my laptop is fairly new, and hasn't and any problems running Sims before.

Well, depending on the power of your PC, it may or may not be the change to the graphics settings. Remember the higher the graphics are set, the more the computer will have to work to run the game.

My suggustion would be to change the settings back to the way they were by clicking the button “Restore Defaults”. That once solved a problem for me when half the stuff in the game turning yellow. Restart the game and see if that fixes it. If not, lower some of the less-desired settings and repeat the process.

If it isn’t fixed at the lowest settings, try clearing the cache files. It may not be the solution but it couldn’t hurt to try. This topic should help:

I would also suggest that you check other game files to see if the same thing is happening.  It could be that file is just glitched.
