Name Saber Salon for Champ

Description:

This house was built for one athlete and one athlete only, a master of the art of saber fencing and practice home of Mariel Zagunis, Gold Medalist.  Any saber fencer would love the peace and quiet of this riverside home.  Stunning view, very relaxing, yet with just what a fencer needs, a fencing strip to practice those winning moves on!  Of course, stamina and upper body strength must not be neglected so step aboard the tread mill or how about a few hundred pull ups?  If that doesn't get your blood pumping there is always the lap pool.  Relax with a nice barbecue with a friend, athletes burn a lot of calories.   Have a great night's sleep.  No distractions here in the form of electronics!  Just some good books to sharpen your mind or a game of chess with one of your athlete friends.  Come see it today, (Mariel might even be at home whipping up a gourmet meal for you.)

kitchen:

Bedroom, lounge and bathroom.  The white strip is part of the fencing strip.

Bird's eye view including small part of outdoor "gym" area.

Garden area showing excellent vista.

*Builders Note*  Mariel Zagunis is from our City of Beaverton, Oregon and is now considered the absolute best in her field.  She will be going for another gold this year.  In general, Mariel is a really great person who is humble, modest, intelligent and kind, and an outstanding competitor. She really is a gourmet cook and loves to garden.  She attended the same high school my kid is at.  Squeakyclean, (my kid's name on this forum),  had the opportunity to open an event Mariel was at by singing the National Anthem for her.  Imagine what a thrill that was!

Building Contest 2012: 14 - An Olympic Starter - July 13, 2012 - July 26, 2012
    Ausette!

Congratulations Ausette! An entry worthy of the Gold Medal! It's perfect for the sporting enthusiast! You can see Ausette's Entry here and download it here.

Ausette's Comment:

"I love starter home contests! They're so fun to build for, and the competition is always fantastic. It was great seeing how everyone worked sports and the Olympic Games into their entries. I had a few technical issues and some trouble with the budget, but after that it was pretty much a game of "Hurry-up-and-finish-the-build-before-someone-else-comes-up-with-the-Olympic-Rings-idea". Congrats to all the participants, and enjoy the rest of the Olympic Games!"

The Thread is open for comments now!  :)

Congratulations Ausette! I always love it when you have time to enter the contests. You're such an inspiration. Your entry was just awesome! Your such a fantastic builder and so much imagination.

Every one's entry was very well done. It was a little difficult choosing only three for our votes. Keep up the good work!

This was such a fun project to do. Thanks samoht04 for all your great contests. I quite enjoy them.

Feed back or comments are always welcome.  :)

Wow, thanks ladybug!  :D Don't forget you're a pretty awesome builder yourself (congrats on the Childhood Dreams win the other week, by the way). I really liked your entry for this contest too - it's nice when people are proud of their countries.

I'm open to comments as usual. I totally expected Decima to beat me this time, lol.

Congratulations Ausette, your house is super cute. I adore the Olympic rings detail. Congrats to all the other participants as well - there are quite a few houses I feel I must have in my game now. Big thanks for making so many great starter homes - I'm totally addicted to small lots.

Yay, I survived my first building competition! (Does the happy dance.) ;D
