Well, I can place it but it leaves a big gap between the property and the road. I might fiddle with it some more tomorrow.

Hmm, I'm out of ideas I'm afraid.
But not out of advice: you should ask Naga about this. Send him an email, or/and ask him to check in on here. He had remodeled Sunset Valley like thousands of times everytime another expansion arived and he had included all buildings with the newer functions that came with those expansions into his remodel.
If anyone knows a solution for you, he will be it. I'll send him an email for you, to ask him to check on this. :)

On Leto's request, here I am!

You already built a 64x64 lot, you want to place it in Sunset Valley, but there is no space, yes?
There is one simple solution, really. See those lots at the Pinochle area? There's a 50x50 somewhere in there, I believe. What you do is, you bulldoze that empty 50x50 lot, place a 64x64 in it's place (it fits just perfectly, and it's connected to the street), change the lot type to horse ranch or equestrian center (not quite sure what it is you've made), and place your lot down there.

This is similar to what I did in Sunset Valley 5.0, and you can see exactly what I meant by checking the map, more specifically for the Equestrian Center that I placed down. It's on the right side of the map. There was even enough space to spare to put a horse ranch next to it!

Hope this answered your question.

Thank you, Naga, I'll check that out.  I actually use your Sunset Valley whenever I play that town. I built a residence horse ranch in Appaloosa Plains but I'd like to use it in SSV too. I appreciate your help!

I know I've placed that 64X64 lot at 15 Summer Hill Court in the past by just bulldozing the empty 60X60 lot first but lately I'm running into the same problem of having that big gap between the lot and the road.

Can't figure out why it used to let me do it but not now. I'm wondering if some patch might have changed something because not I et a "Can't level terrain" message when I try.

I just tried again after deleting near by trees and it still won't go. The 64x64 lot does however fit nicely at 20 Summer Hill Court which is the Alto's place and in my opinion offers a better view of the town anyway.

In order to make room in Bridgeport, I got rid of both the hospital and science lab and replaced them with a combined Hospital/science Reserch Center that I downloaded from "mysimrealty.com". It hasn't caused any issues in my games.

I believe there are more buildings that came with some expansions that combines the hospital with other building functions.

This Hospital/Science Lab is 45 by 45. So it takes less room. I also have a school/ stadium that fits nicely where the old science lab was in Bridgeport. I now have tons of space for homes and whatever.

Jude, I just remodeled SV so here's part of what I did.  I bulldozed the Science building giving me a nice 64x64 lot.  Then I used a much smaller lot, even 30x30 works, and placed one of the science buildings that you can find when you build on a commercial lot in that square thing to the right on the build screen.  You know, the one that has all kinds of buildings and goodies in it?  The science buildings in there take a much smaller space and work just as well and the big one.  Just not as fancy.  I also bulldozed the junkyard and placed a 30x20 lot  across from that Pinochle Point development.  It fits in with a little juggling although the back part is a bit slanty.  It's only weeds back there so who cares?  You can easily place a 64x64 lot on the end of the Pinochle Point street once the junkyard and lot are bulldozed.  By manipulating the other lots you can fit in quite a few more larger size lots.

My goal was to have all LN and ST venues plus horse stuff and I did it!  Looks good too.  The FIRST thing I did was put the fire station and salon in a much smaller more reasonable area.  For some reason those two always irritate me.  lol
What?  Grannies can't play games?

Thanks, Joria! I'm going to try that! I nearly always move the fire station somewhere else. It irritates me too that it's facing the wrong way on the lot.

I've tried remodeling Sunset Vallry as well. I generally start with a new game and do the remodel and save the game as "New Sunset Valley" with the intention of using that every time I start a new game but eneitably I wind up playing a game and accidentally forgetting to save the game with a new name and wind up saving over the remodel town that had no time pass in it which kind of ruins it as a starting point for future new games.

This is why I want to try and rebuild the Sunset Valley world in CAW. It's just too bad we can't export Sunset Valley to edit in CAW. That would be so much easier. :(
