I got a new computer, and now I cannot play the Sims. It crashes when I am in Create-A-Household.
It seems to slowly eat all the memory and then when it runs out, it crashes. I have been watching it in Windows Task Manager. It starts around 500 MB usage when I start the game, then when I get into Create-A-Household, it's usually up to 1 GB, then before I can customize the two Sims I want, it has gone up to 3.8 GB usage and stops responding. I don't even have to do anything to cause it to eat all the memory and crash. Just start a new game in Appaloosa Plains, enter CAH and let it sit there for 10 minutes.
I have tried lowering my graphics options (I have gone down to Windowed mode 1024x768).
I have disabled DEP for every EXE.
I am on the latest patch version (1.34.whatever)
I started it from the TS3W.EXE, rather than from the launcher.
I have no custom content or mods.
This is a fresh install.
I have the Base Game, World Adventures, Late Night, Generations, Pets, High End Loft Stuff, Fast Lane Stuff, Outdoor Living, and Town Life Stuff.
I have Windows 7 64-bit with a Sandy Bridge Core i5 2500K with Intel HD 3000 graphics and 8 GB memory.
I don't have this program on my laptop, but my laptop is so slow. I would really prefer to play on my desktop.
Is there anything else I have overlooked to try?
