Sorry for the long subject, but I have a question about the sims, it's been solved, but I really want to know why it happened. The first expansion pack I installed was generations, it wouldn't work, the game launcher would just freeze up after i clicked the play arrow, and, I was left sitting with a grey arrow. I uninstalled generations, tried to play sims, and the grey arrow was there again, so I uninstalled sims, re installed sims and generations, and it took a few times to get it to work, barely. Eventually that stopped working and I re installed it again, the process started over again. I always had these problems with the other expansion packs, world adventures came next, then late night, eventually I was driven to getting a new sims base game because I thought something was wrong with that one base game, I did, annnnd, drumroll please...it happened again. But then, when I got pets, after struggling through trying to just get the sims to open up into the game, everything was fixed, I didn't have that problem, and I haven't had it since, or even anything close to it. Was there something in pets that was able to fix this, or was it a patch that I just happened to get? But it was only after I installed pets. I really want to know why this happened, because I want to know if I could have prevented all that reinstalling all together. I have an urge to know why it happened.
