Aussies can now buy Simpoints off line
« on: July 02, 2012, 06:38:16 AM »
I got an email from EA Games a few days ago. Now people in Australia can buy Simpoints at EB Games, JB HiFi  and Target. This is great for Twindad and me. He collects gift cards and I spend Simpoints, so if I buy a card or two, I get the benefit of the points and he gets the card when it's spent  ;D  We had a look in Target today, but they didn't have anything. Then we went to JB and asked. The guy didn't know anything, but said they were probably coming soon. Then we went to EB and the guy there knew about them and said that he was expecting them in in the afternoon. Guess I'll have another look tomorrow.

Well, that was a bit of a let down. Went into EB today looking for the new cards, but they are not cards. For $12 you get a game case with Simpoints on the label. Then inside, you get a piece of paper with a code to redeem at the store for 1000 points. Even the EB guy said it was a letdown, he was expecting something other than a piece of paper to be inside. So unless you don't have any means to pay for them online, I wouldn't bother because you are paying $2 extra just to get the packaging. Of course, I guess they would be good if you wanted to give them as a gift to someone, or, like I said, had no way to pay online.
