So, the best home I've built to date is stuck in (what I believe to be) a corrupted save file. I'm not sure... I've gotten the "Exception Raised" error a small handful of times, and multiple other times the game just freezes while loading or once it loads the file won't play. It's definitely not my computer; it's brand new and now TS3 usually works like a dream.

One time when I was able to get into the file, I saved the household so I could theoretically place them in a new game and either keep playing or evict them for the lot. This doesn't seem to work either... it makes the new game glitchy.

Question 1: Based on that fact, does anything that comes from a corrupted file become corrupt as well? (I.e. why can't I place the family in a new town/game?)

Question 2: I tried to play using the backup file but it doesn't seem to be working. Am I screwed? I have all of the EPs/SPs except for Fast Lane and KPST, and I just patched up this morning.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance...

Have you checked out the information in the sticky above

I have used this information, in the past, to successfully save corrupted files.

The only other thing I can think of is corrupted custom content, but, as I never use custom content, and you don't say whether or not you have custom content, I really can't say.
