Sims 3 - Control panel at the bottom of the game screen has disappeared.

I am not sure if that is the right name for it but I think you will get what I mean.

I cannot control my Sims or see their pictures how do I get my control panel back.

It's called the User Interface.  Did you shut down the game and re-open it?  Did you accidentally push the tab button?

I saved my game last night and haven't played that particular file since. My daughter has been playing her game and that was fine. I just loaded my game up and the user interface(thank you Pam) had gone.

Okay I did some research(alright I googled it) and I found the following:

In order to get your game back, follow this instructions:
1. Shut down the game
2. Go to Documents> Electronic Arts>The Sims 3> Saves, alhough the saves may be in a different place if you have an EP.
3. Say your game is called 'bob' find 'bob.sims3' and delete it.
4.Find 'bob.sims3.backup' and delete the word 'backup'

I followed the instructions and my user interface is back. Yay.

I'm glad you got it back, but what you did is the same thing that we have on the Technical Help board for restoring the backup of the game.  I'm sorry I didn't suggest that in the beginning.

I'm having this issue right now, I tried deleting my last save and removing the word backup from the backup file, and it still won't work. Does anyone have any suggestions? I just had to restart my legacy family because I'd accidentally deleted the grim reaper, I don't want to have to restart again!

I had this happen in the middle of playing but found it was my daughter hitting keys on the keyboard! If that could be the issue you coud exit out of the game and then restart it and it should resolve then so I would try that first just incase that is all that has happened!
