Is there a way to lure ghosts out of the graveyard?

I put perfect quality Ambrosia in my inventory and waited for a Sim ghost to come out, but nothing happened! Only one ghost dog came out, and I wanted to revive a ghost Sim that died in a way other than old age.

You could make a kleptomaniac sim and steal the graves? Then place them on your house and wait there.

If you want to use a Sim who's not Klepto (and keep the hard-earned Ambrosia), and you're not opposed to cheats, open the cheat console (ctrl+shift+c), and type in testingcheatsenabled true.  Then shift + click on your Sim, then click "Modify Traits for Active Sim".  You can then swap one of the Sim's traits for Kleptomaniac, the back again after you've stolen the graves, like warr said.

I'm playing on the Appaloosa Plains map. I go to the Newton's Cemetery to wait, but nothing ever happens!

I've noticed that the ghosts in Sunset Valley are coming out later than they used to.  Now it's around 2:00 a.m.  Are you waiting that long?  Also, I don't know if you'll be able to get one of those ghosts to eat Ambrosia because they are now programmed to head straight for the entrance of the graveyard and leave in cars.  They won't even stop to talk or anything.

That car glitch is super annoying!  I think stealing their remains is the best bet.

I go to the graveyard at 12:00 AM, and wait until the graveyard shift is over at 5:00 AM.

I'm against stealing, but why the car glitch?

Well, if I really want to resurrect a certain ghost, I'm not opposed to a quick trait change and grabbing the remains. But that's only when I really, really want to try to resurrect the ghost. The car glitch came with Ambitions, I think, and was caused by the update due to that. You can barely even see or talk to ghosts anymore, except to glimpse them driving away to some blank lot in the middle of nowhere.

Aqua's right.  They rise up from their graves and head straight for the entrance, get in cars, and leave.  Before the bug, they would just hang around the graveyard, talking to each other, reading books, etc. and you could easily meet and talk to one.  I was able to resurrect some by bringing Ambrosia and setting it on the ground, but that was before the bug.  It might be fixed sometime, but we have no idea when.

Maybe I'll ask EA customer support about the glitch sometime.

You could also check the mausoleum and see if there are any remains there you can take.  That's where all the remains of Sims that die in story progression go.
