Ceiling tiles and camera angles
« on: May 28, 2012, 06:23:39 PM »
I had a go today at using them and it was so frustrating I gave up. Is there a way to move the camera in build mode so that it looks up higher at the ceiling? The highest I could get it only showed one small part (usually a corner) of the ceiling at once and I had to be right up against the opposite wall. I can move the camera about much better using the tab key in live mode, does build mode have anything similar? Or is there another way of getting the patterned corners and edges onto the ceiling, but only on the edges and not the whole ceiling?

Thanks  :)

First, a ceiling won't show up unless you have floor tiles on the next level up (like a flat roof). Then what I do is go to the level below, zoom down to the floor, then angle the view up as far as you can - I hold down the scroll button and move the mouse to angle it. Then you should be able to see the ceiling (just) and add tiles up there. It can help to have walls down, especially with small rooms.

Having the walls down helped, thanks!

I usually build with the walls up so I can decorate etc.
