No curfew mod still around?
« on: May 16, 2012, 02:28:14 PM »
Over a year ago, I used whiterider's no curfew mod. "Bug off Bobby!" Last time it was updated was around pets, and I'm not willing to risk it yet, since it says "patch 1.26 compatible." Would there be any other mod creators that have a more recent no curfew mod? I really miss using it, and the police is really annoying.

By the way, I meant I don't want to risk using a "1.26 compatible" mod, because it doesn't say if it will work for 1.33. So something like "1.26 latest patch" on a 1.33 patch sounds a little risky to me.

Whiterider's mod is perfectly compatible with patch level 1.3x. That XML file was not changed since patch 1.26 and there is no risk involved in using any flavor of that mod.

That said, Twoftmama also has some curfew mods available at NSA, if you want to look at those. You'll need to register first.

Thanks! How often do the tuning files change?

You can't put an exact number on that. If EA decided to extend the curfew in an EP or Patch, the Tuning File would be changed, so the Mod would need to be updated. Otherwise, it would remain the same.

Yep, basically what Seabody said. Usually the decision to change an XML is not arbitrary -- it is only changed because they had to add information pertaining to something about the new EP. Some XML files have not changed in years. For example, I don't think EA has ever touched the BuffFitAtmosphere XML since release. On the other hand, the XML which determines how many people you can invite to a party/when you can throw a party had not been touched in ages, until Generations. Then they had to add information about teen parties and slumber parties.

Thank you guys. I'm glad the mod is still good. It was one of the very first mods I ever put in my game, and I'm happy I can still use it, post-Gen.  :)

It was always my necessary mod, besides Twallans.
