Strange Sim Behavior
« on: May 18, 2012, 09:42:36 PM »
Ok so I have a pair of sims that are married, and have been exclusive since high school.  Here's the weird part.  Ever since they gave birth to their first child, my girl Kathleen will just randomly stop whatever she'd doing, point at her husband Nicholas, and laugh at him.  She's not heckling, cause he's not picking up that moodlet.  But she will stop her workouts, when she's cooking, she even wakes up 3 or 4 times a night just to laugh at him.

What's wrong with her?  Is she broken?  Her traits are Animal Lover, Virtuoso, Family Oriented, Artistic, Natural Born Performer, so it's not a matter of a good sense of humor.  I just don't get what in the world is wrong with her.  Has anyone else had this happen before?  If so, will she be fixed with a simple reset or is this just some glitch she's gonna have to learn to live with?

If you haven't already, I suggest you reset both of them before anything else.
If at first you don't succeed, call it version 1.0.

I had a sim break up with another sim and it resulted in a fist fight, dust flying, the whole drill.  Ok, no problem.  So, the sim moved on with his girlfriend and moved in together and the spouse of the sim that had the fight would do the same thing, stop whatever they were doing and point and laugh.  Even the paper girl or boy would do the same thing, if that sim was outside.  If I put the sim to bed first that had the fight and the other sim would go to bed, they would get in bed and then get up and point at the sim sleeping and do the same thing.  I never could get it to stop.  I guess it has something to do with the sim breaking up and fighting, not quite sure.  It has only happened one other time, but it is in the program, not sure what they are actually thinking about when they do that.  Not long after it happened, I read on the official forum about the same thing, but cannot remember what it said.  So I guess there is not much you can do to stop it. :)

That's the funny thing.  Neither of them have ever been with anyone but each other.  An it turns out the problem isn't her, it's him.  Nick is in the park with their son Jason, reading while she performs for tips.  Now the proprietor of the park is pointing and laughing at him too.  Gonna have to reset him and see if it helps.

Once, with a burglar, he kicked the guy's butt.  I tried the reset sim, but it didn't work.  Worse, now Kathleen has no interactions with herself.  She can't use her phone, she can't use the house phone, can't meditate, can't even change her clothes without a dresser.  I'm gonna shutting it all the way off and restarting from the launcher.

Edit, no, closing it and restarting it didn't help.  Not for her being able to use the phone and such.  Cripes!
