Correction to The Sims 3 Collection Guide (gems)

Hi Carl,

I've read this part on your site, but this info isn't exactly true:

'Raw, Uncut tiberium can grow on its own without doing anything special to it if it has seen some travel time. Travel seems key here, as the tiberium you get from breaking space rock blocks at home doesn't seem to grow on its own. So, you'll generally not need to cut it if you got it from adventuring.'

My sim cut out every type of gem and tiberium DOES grow when I left it alone outside the house. It could take a day, but eventually it will grow mostly. Only one time it didn't. Maybe you could correct this part of the site?

The tiberium you get from space rocks, all you do with those is send them to be cut.  They come back as small spire cut tiberium and then just set them around your house and they will grow into large cut in a day or so.  My sim must get at least two tiberium per session when using the space rock, so I have cut alot of them, I have sent as high as 10 at one time to be cut.

I am not Carl, but I thought I would throw my two cents worth in, lol.
Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?

We had no trouble getting Tiberium found out in the world to grow, but I myself couldn't get the stuff found from space rock blocks to do anything. It sat for weeks on end without any changes, and not just one rock, multiple rocks.

So this has been fixed? Maybe it was a glitch on my end.

Maybe you where just unlucky Carl. I've had that to, once. But having that for multiple times in a row will be unlikely. If it is a fix than that can be read on thesims3.com where they make a note of every fix they put in an update. Do you remeber when you've sufferd the experiment? Than it would be more than likely that the update that came right after that is the one that has fixet the problem.

Like Carl, I've had many times when I got a Tiberium from space rock blocks and it did absolutely nothing until it was cut.  I've got a new martial artist who will be able to prodice Tiberium soon, so I'll do some new testing.

I am on the very same page as Carl and Pam.  Tiberium from space rocks does not grow like the Tiberium found while out in the "wild".  I have encountered this in every game I play and that includes since the latest update was released.

Wait a sec... you where saying UNTIL it was cut? Maybe I have just misunderstood something, but the tiberiums I throw away in the garden only grows when they where cut first. I thought we where talking about the same tiberium, but you are talking about the raw uncut stuff, don't you?

The piece of the Guide you quoted that you said needed to be corrected said "raw, uncut Tiberium."  So yes, we've been talking about raw Tiberium.  Carl's Guide says that Tiberium found in the wild needs to travel before it will transform to large spires on its own.  Other Tiberium that is gotten from space rock blocks has to be cut to small spires or heart shape before they will transform to large spires.

I've always been arguing that this must be a bug exploit, but it still works in the way Pam explained Leto.
