I tried the Transfiguring and didn't seem to make it worth the cost, some of my transfiguring ended up with my losing money.  I'll have to try it again, to see if I can make it worth while.

I lost money when I first started.   Now I keep it simple and make lots of cash.   I'm sure there is more to be made, but can't understand how.  I currently satisfy myself with Soul piece and supernovium.

The trick with soulpiece is to place a medium value gem on the top left level (example: crystal ball cut diamond) place two medium low value gems next to it then place five emerald cuts.  You need 5 different gems and 4 different cuts.  Apart from the first gem the others are more or less rubbish value you will definately get an uncut soulpiece worth more than your investment.

With supernovium place one medium value metal top left. (example: murcury vial).  Then place gold, silver, copper and lead bars (in that order) to fill the remaining seven slots (at least one of each).  You will definately double your investment at the very least.
(If you don't have one of the four low value metals then choose your next lowest value metal and place it next to the top left metal).
The trick here is to keep your investment as low as possible - It does not seem to make any difference to the outcome if you use higher value metals other than the top left. Nor do you seem to make proportionally more by placing very high value bars in the top left.

I've read the guide notes on transfiguration, but lose money when I try anything more ambitious other than supernovium to compendium when I just barely brake even.

I'd appreciate clarification on how to take my basic dabbling to the next level.
