Drat!!!  Oh well, I guess I can always PM Metro or one of the other team members with my questions, or read the over 300 posts about dynasties!

You can also post your questions in the corresponding Dynasty ruleset thread, and/or in the Helpful Hints thread for the corresponding Dynasty in the storyboard.

We're more than happy to help out :)

There is a little info on Monte Vista here, but could anybody give a bit more? I particularly want to know about placing lots and ease of movement.

Hello Rikki8528 . those tips for immortal dynasty were wrote by Chuckles_82 . the first tip is so important .so i in case you didn't see them i'll post them again.

- Use the lot at the end of the road next to the fishing lot - that one didn't get bugged on building, the one on the other side of town did.
- Use the GilsCarbo family: Carlotta is perfect for fishing, gardening and/or cooking, and an already completed LTW, Goopy can be skilled up to be a painter for later, and the Dad can just run around doing any extra things that need doing, like Alchemy, collecting, buying potions or cameras...
- Use Carlo Mancini for an immediate portrait, and a quick demise
- Use Gino Ferrari for the car, and better yet, the Minus 1 Kelvin Fridge by Friday night week 1, and yet more LTH points with another completed LTW
- Use Su Lin Chang for a sculptor. Have her invite her boss over, make them BFFs, then ask for a promotion. More instant LTH points and completed LTW, so you can give her midlife crisis and make her a sculptor/photographer

Joker, I made an earlier post mentioning the GilsCarbos and Carlo Mancini. I could add your tips to the end if it if you like.

Edit: What did you mean about bugged lot? I've used the 27 address and it works absolutely fine.

I remember her post cause i played once in Monte Vista .and my game was crashing . until i found her post, "she was an old member ", so I tried the suggested lot and my game worked like a charm.
Note :May be you have a better laptop or graphic card than mine .or the game finally getting  fixed .
You can see her post at page 14 of Completing an Immortal Dynasty Hints and Tips

Hello lisa46. bugged lot means when you play in that lot it will cause a fault or defect in the game
In my case .the game was crashing especially in the build mode.
Thanks

I'll explain it through.

For example, you start an immortal dynasty in Riverview. Your founder is looking around for sims to help them out, when they come across, say, Jon Lessen. Jon is an older adult, rich, attractive, but you don't have him eyed for your founder's spouse. Still, you'd like his genes in the family, so you move him in anyways.

Jon doesn't have to be useless. He might paint for you or do other dynasty things while your founder is out doing their things and marrying someone else. But at some point, Jon gets himself a girlfriend from outside the household. Maybe he finds something appealing in Roxie Lin. He goes to her house, Tries for a Baby, and three days later, Jon had a child that isn't a part of the household. And, in fact, Jon can have a lot of kids this way! He might end up with four or five kids with Roxie Lin, who never have to be a part of the household. Jon can also keep producing children as an elder and basically until Grim comes for him, because elder males can reproduce indefinitely.

And when your second generation heir is an adult, they can marry one of those Lin kids.

If you're as crazy as I am, you repeat the process once you notice that a desired male townie has gone grey. Move him in, find him a younger female mate, make children, and cheer when he goes to the grave.

In short, it's a way to keep a diverse gene pool. It's not needed to keep a dynasty running, but it ensures more interesting-looking immortals as time goes on and your immortals marry the kids or grandkids of those original townie men, and it does it without compromising household space that much.

Ok, so I'm playing in Union Cove.  Pietro Gepetto, (son of Giovanni my spouse), completed my founder's portrait while still a child, (barely, he aged up the next day!), and I shipped him off to boarding school.  When he comes back and becomes a YA, I still have him in my control, right?  So I choose a female or females for him to have a baby with just to populate the town?  He'll be with the family for quite some time providing all those portraits which is why I married Giovanni, (who makes beautiful babies by the way), but I can also use him to help my descendants find mates later?

Now, if you just move someone in, are you in control of them?  In Pietro's case he was a package deal, but I am thinking of becoming bffs with James Douglas for his fishing skills and moving him in but only if I was in control of him.  Need those death fish!

Good news, (I think)!  Playing an ID in UC has just gotten a wee bit easier.  Here's a copy of the post I just posted on the Dynasty Challenge thread.

Metro and the team has given me permission to go in to all the buildings I created in Union Cove to edit them and make them a bit less graphics intensive, and to allow us all to use them legally in dynasties played in Union Cove..  I have finished 24 of them so far.  Here is the link!

https://www.mediafire.com/folder/jimwmftfbtopw/Union_Cove_Rebuilds

To use them, bulldoze the original buildings before starting your dynasty, replace the bulldozed buildings immediately with the edited buildings.  In the case of homes that contain townsfolk, the file includes the unedited people so delete them from your clipboard when you bulldoze.  They will be in their homes when you replace the buildings.

You still need to bulldoze Amberlea Manor and Metro's Mansion, but I found in the past that even removing these wasn't quite enough.  With 24 buildings all having fewer objects my game is running much more smoothly with no lag so far.

You will also no longer need to add the Arboretum or Vault of Antiquity.  The Arboretum is in the graveyard and the Vault of Antiquity is part of the library.

Thanks team for allowing this!

I still haven't finished with Pier Fun O Won.  This one is a major project and I've wanted to play test my dynasty to see if the changes really have made a difference.  I have one version of the pier almost done which I think makes it a much more fun place for Sims to go.  However, to use this version you would have to have the Carousel, Hot Air Balloon, bowling alley and java hut bar.  I will edit the original version as well without all the cool additions so you will still have a showtime venue on the pier, it just won't be as much all around fun.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

I really did Union Cove and tried to start a 4x4 in it as the first town, but the computer LAAAAAAGGED like molasses in winter so I uninstalled Union Cove. I guess it was because I didn't realize how many buildings were in the town, slowing my game down. I may make it the final town of a 4x4, but until then I have Dragon Valley, which is cool.

This thread is awesome! ^_^
I play The Sims 4 for fun, so I don't care if I never end up being interviewed for the Dynasty Hall of Fame; people who play for keeps burn out too easily and don't enjoy playing the games, so I am going to not sweat the details.

Moonlight Falls

Edit Town: Adding Bars is about it, actually. All the lots like consignment stores are already there.

Spouses: If you want Alchemists Jules MacDuff is good (although a bit ugly) and I believe there is also a female witch with alchemy 10 in the supernatural wannabes household. There are a ton of spouses if you are doing life states. Not that many are young, single, and correct-life-state men. The Crumplebottom sisters can also be pretty good if you have a male founder. If you like alchemy and potent cure elixirs you could basically marry anyone. Another advantage: some original townies start as fairies werewolves and vampires and will be around basically forever so if you like original townie blood... Also if you want rainboos there are at least two green paparazzi, Carmella Hai and some other random female who has a HUGE nose. Probably better for a life states, right?

Technical: No lag for me so far and I am at week 8 of my life states. I'm working on a 2008 dinosaur MacBook so that's pretty rare for being so far along. It's as good as Dragon Valley for me.

Special Pros: Obviously the best place for a life states. Lag is not bad as mentioned above. It's the only town with major alchemy skill. And it has mushrooms everywhere, so that's great.

Special Cons: Some of the townies are really ugly. Not as bad as Twinbrook but certainly not beautiful. Huge noses are common. The special seeds are in odd places. If you hate Twilight IT WILL DRIVE YOU TO INSANITY. You have been warned.

Other Info: It does have combo rabbit holes including the school, but I haven't had any problems with that yet (I would know, it's a life states dynasty after all.)

One more note: If you are doing a life states, there is a lot that is unbelievably close to the graveyard. It is a 40x40 I believe.

EDIT: Only one pregnant townie at the beginning of the game, and if your dynasty cares about life extension he/she will be hopelessly ugly. Always. Joanie and Flint MacDuff are ok on their own but their genes don't mix well.

Good summary, but I think the townie with mastered alchemy is Violet Slymer, the ghost who lives with Argus Brown and Dante Morganthe, and not one of the supernatural wannabes.

Also, raise the dead if you want rainboos from Moonlight Falls, because all the ghosts (buried or playable) are on the bright rainbow slider. They just all happen to have the same place on it, with them all being a shade of blue.

That is quite possible, sorry about that. I'll go check now.

I forgot about the ghosts. Thanks Trip!

EDIT: Trip is totally correct. It is Violet Slymer.
