Writing Reports......

I am feeling a little "blonde" at the moment and can't find where my level 4 police officer is supposed to find on the computer to write up a report since she needs to do that for her job performance.  I got her up to level 5 writing in the hopes it would show up but nothing there.  Help please?

You must gather information on someone by questioning them or by digging up their trash.
After getting the information then you can write report.

My cop did that and yet I still have no option when clicking on the computer/writing to write that darn report.  Thanks for the reply.

Okay, situation has resolved itself.  For whatever reason, the first 2 people my cop had interviewed, the option to write the report did not appear, but on the third one, I hit paydirt and found it!!!

Yeah I think you have to come up with enough new info. Plus I couldn't write a report on a Sim I'd already written about, at least in journalism. I know articles and reports are different, but it wouldn't surprise me

Well, now Simstar has brought this one back to life (I didn't even noticed the date people where responding to this), I can maybe put some info here as well.
Although the problem obviously has solved itself, there is still no answer to why it has solved. Probably the reason that sims can't write about each other could just be that they don't know the other to good enough. Digging up trash or not, you still need a little chatting to know the other one.
I thought people already knew this, but since I didn't see this info here, I still posted it.

Btw. Metro, looking at Simstars profile, I saw she is just 11. It can be that she doesn't know the term for being 'blonde' yet in her country.

[Edited for spelling. Remember that verb-conjugations are very important to avoid confusion. "Have" or "has" indicates that the following verb is in past participle (for example "brought"). Verbs followed after "do" (and its conjugations for example "did" and "does") are always put in the infintive. - Swede]

With repeat reports I found that I could submit multiple reports on the same Sim, but only after they'd been requestioned, or I'd searched through their trash. My Sim wrote 3 reports on Beau Andrews, and I noticed that the pop up for each completed report varied slightly: first time it was 'Rafael has written a basic report on Beau Andrews', then I had one that was middle ground, then 'Rafael has written a thorough report on Beau Andrews'. Also (it's probably worth mentioning) with the first report they were friends; the second they were good friends and the last report they were best friends. Beau had also aged into an Elder by the time of the last report.

I am playing a law enforcement sim after a long time of not doing so, and have noticed a couple of things that are different from before around the report writing.  I don't know if these are deliberate changes to how things work or just a glitch in my game.  First, my previous sim wrote most of his reports on his co-workers.  He would just question them and write the report.  The current sim just spent quite a bit of time socializing with his boss, and the "question" social never came up.  Does anyone know if sims can no longer write reports on their co-workers? 

Second, he interviewed a visitor from China.  I had him sit down at the computer to write the report.  He worked away at it, then just before it was finished, he popped up; there is no other way to express it - he was just suddenly standing behind the chair.  I tried repeatedly to get him to write the report and the same thing kept happening.  I finally had to have him scrap that report.  There have been no problems with other reports he's written.  Maybe the SV police department is only interested in reports on local citizens!
