Sim wakes up in middle of night "upset."

Sorry if this has been discussed, but I couldn't find it; it's a surprisingly difficult topic to search for. Two nights in a row now, my Sim has woken up about an hour or two after going to bed because he is "upset." No negative moodlets, and no indication of why he's upset (his thought bubble is just his own face with a red circle and line over it).

Only things that happened the day this started was: he was rejected for a gig at the coffeehouse and he garnered a "naughty" reputation (he's a flirty musician, so sue him already!) - both things that my Sims have done at some point in the past without this, although not very often, since I don't usually play vocalists or cassanovas.

Anyone else?

Sims get upset if a friend is fooling around, or their paramour. Now, I have never had one wake up upset, because they weren't witnessing the incident.

I recently had a female vocalist living with 2 men. For 5 sim weeks, using the LTR of "no jealousy", everything was fine. Then out of the blue, one got negative red marks when the other one was flirting with her. So now, Mr. "no jealousy" is upset. I couldn't figure it out.

And, the same guy got upset when she flirted with others (he himself is a flirt and non-committal). I'm wondering if part is due to age. The guy who got upset, was reaching elderly in 8 days, and the other two were YA.
