Careers for a writer and a painter?
« on: April 14, 2012, 11:46:01 AM »
I have two Sims who are a self-employed writer and painter. They've both reached the top of their careers and have more than enough money in their household (close to 400,000). I'm considering changing their careers because I'm getting bored of writing books and making paintings now. They've also completed all the skill challenges for their skills.

So what other kind of career would their skills be useful in? It can be profession or job, I don't care which.
The outside is quiet, but the inside is on full blast.

A writer would be good writing scripts for the film industry and a painter would be good in architecture or styling.

The Forensics Branch of Law Enforcement also uses painting as a metric.

If you wanted to try something completely different and new skills - any job would do to give you something interesting going on.  An artistic sim might do well in a the music career  and a bookworm would do well in medicine or if he wanted to learn cooking, the culinary track.

Some career changes would probably depend on what expansions the poster has.  I only have pets, so that limits me on some careers that sound interesting.

One that is a possiblity is Jack of all Trades, you have to master a set number of careers, so wouldn't those fit in?   Law Enforcement requires the ability to write and paint, so that one can be considered.

Added:  Renaissance is another one that requires three careers to be achieved.  And Jack of all Trades requires you to master five careers, so that should be a challenge for your sims.
Also, edited so it makes more sense.

You can

Become:
A sculptor
A journalist
A politician
An actor/director

Or
(My personal favorite) Just quit your job. Give your sim a break! My sims haven't even reached 100,000 simoleons and they are just fine. They -suspiciously- have 7 cars, a HUGE house, and 7 people living in that house. And NONE of them have jobs! Honestly, I even spoil them. Whenever I do get money, I spend it on buying a house for my Sims who move out. Stupid idea, I know. They should just get a job.

(And no, I did not use cheats to get the house, cars, etc.)
I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.  :D

Just let them chill and enjoy their money.

However, if they really must work, I'd say the Army. Its one of the easiest to reach the top then they work one (long) day per week.  You will need to improve athletic skill if they haven't spent much time on that skill and some handiness and logic but its still easy.
