Need help.... My Single Elder Sim has an infant child....

So I have a few games that I play simultaneously with different sims in different styles, anyway I lost track of the ages of the sims in one of my games and my couple had a child, while the mother was pregnant the father caught on fire while trying to fix the garbage disposal and died.... now the mother has had the child but the child is still an infant and she just reached elder status... will she just continue to be an elder until the child reaches young adult status or will she die regardless, in which case what happens with the child as I know you can't have a game with just children, there must be an adult of some sort....

Just wondering how that plays out in the game... and I haven't been able to find an answer....

Hey CGrouse,
Unfortunally, your elder will die when it is her time, no matter if child is in the house, if little one is a toddler or a child, social worker will pick it up and you'll have to chose another family in town to continue playing that neighborhood. Teens will stay playable alone, and game will continue as usual.
If you don't want to risk you have few options:
- move in YA or an adult in the house to make shore kid grow up under your controll
- use one of the options such are life fruit /eat it raw, in a drink, or ambrosia if you can make it
-keep deathflower in your elder inventory, Grim will take it and reset your elder at the beggining of elder age
-not shore if tatoo is still reseting age, or makeover station
-LTR that brings back to previous lifestage
-Cheat edit in Cas or age up that child with birthday cake
-Stop aging in options and age up child with birthday cake until teen
-if you have Generations - use young again potion on your elder
-if you have fontain of youth you can try that (I don't so I don't really know how it works)

Getting tattoos, makeovers at the Stylist station (Ambitions content) and Plastic Surgery are all glitches that reset the life bar to the beginning of the age stage.

EDIT: The 'edit in CAS' cheat also resets the age bar.

You can also adjust the life bars so that the timespan for elders is longer and/or the time span for toddlers/kids/teens is shorter (ie decrease the time for being young by 2-5 sim days and increase the time for being and elder by 5-10 days!)

My best advice is, pray to god and cross your fingers that the kid will be a teen before your elder sim kicks the bucket! hehe.  Yes, teen sims can live alone if the adult dies.  But, if they're anything younger then the social worker comes and takes them away therefore destroying all your hard work if you have a legacy
